The Powerhouse of Popularity {His Version} Even before being crowned 2005 Elite Contest Champion, it would be hard to argue against Shade being the current most popular Eliter. While he has had a bumpy PD career filled with allegations of lying, controversy, and ultimate compromise, it hasn't phased this talented gamer or his impact on the community.

Shade joined The Elite in the summer of 2001 and quickly became a PD powerhouse, so much so that his times were doubted and he was removed from the rankings for a short period. He was readded a few months later, and quickly continued his rise to the top 30. In 2002, he was the first NTSC-only player to go below 26:00 in total Agent time and had champion potential written all over him. This would fade slightly, as he was removed from the rankings again in March 2002, amid controversy and lack of proof on some of his incredible WRs, including AF1 A 0:54 and SOS PA 2:09. He would again be re-added, eventually with all of his times, which bumped him into 2nd place, right behind then-champ Karl! This would be his peak, with 6 300 point stages, and 28 WRs in the prime of his career. He even managed to pass Karl (though, unofficially) for about a week, until he was removed again because of continuous proof issues. When the new Elite Proof Policy was put in place, Shade was added with all of his proven times, which only ranks him 74th in points, but 13th in Records, and 15th on the Proven Rankings. He's not done yet, either, as he continues to play, albeit sporadically, and has promised a comeback, hopefully filled with proof to validate his career as one of the greatest PD players The Elite has ever seen.

While his PD career may seem to be in a bit of disarray, his time spent on Mario Kart 64 has earned him the right to call himself a Legend. A Legend B, at least, as that is his current rank, 30th place overall, and the 3rd best player in Canada. He's been one of the most consistently active Karters since he joined the site, even earning a POW back in 2003, keeping pace with one *cough*three*cough* of the fastest rising players ever to grace the site. Perhaps the most important part of his time on Mario Kart is the proof of his skills. He's been one of the best at providing vids for his times in Kart, especially in his recent flurry of GOD standard races. He is currently part of a very competitive rivalry which will ensure that he stays active and continues PRing to hopefully reach GOD status one day.

Though Shade is a highly talented gamer, much of his immense popularity stems from just how likeable he is. He's been one of the most active chatters since Elite Chat began, and has made many close friends through The Elite, some of which he's even gone to great lengths to meet. He's really the total package: a great gamer, a great friend, and a sexy haircut! His supporters have come out in force in every contest so far, as he shockingly upset Expert in 2003, flew through some PD legends to win the division and 3rd place overall in 2004, and defeated some of the biggest names in Elite history in 2005 to come out as the overall champion. He's definitely deserving of his spot in both the Champions Bracket and the Elite Hall of Fame, but the bigger question is: Can he knock off Ngamer like he did to so many greats in the past? You get to choose! Vote Shade!
